Warranty

As a GAF Master Elite contractor, we explain GAF's industry leading warranty options for qualifying roofing systems. Your project consultant reviews the coverage available for your roof.
Manufacturer product warranty
A GAF Lifetime Limited Warranty is available with GAF Lifetime Shingles and at least three qualifying GAF accessories. GAF defines Lifetime as coverage while the original individual owner or an eligible second owner owns the property. It applies to single-family detached residences. Lifetime coverage does not apply to other owners or buildings.
Algae discoloration warranty
A 25 year StainGuard Plus Limited Warranty covers blue-green algae discoloration. It applies only to product sold in packages bearing the StainGuard Plus logo. This is discoloration coverage, not leak coverage.
Limited lifetime workmanship warranty
A lifetime limited workmanship warranty is available as an optional upgrade on qualifying full replacements. Your project consultant can walk you through it.

Certifications
GAF Master Elite®
The top of GAF's three residential tiers, and it matters because of one document. The Golden Pledge® Limited Warranty can only be offered by a Master Elite® contractor, and even then it needs a qualifying Timberline® shingle and at least five qualifying accessories, not just the certification. GAF's own conditions for the tier are insurance, licensing where a state requires it, years of experience and customer reviews.
How a roofing project runs
We review the plan before the crew arrives.
Here is what to expect from the first visit to the final walk-through. The steps are the same whether we repair one leak or replace the whole roof.
Inspection
Your project consultant inspects the roof and the attic, takes photos and goes over the findings with you. Your personalized estimate is built at the same visit.
Preparation
Once you approve the estimate, we set the dates and order the materials. Your Project Leader meets you before work begins and reviews the plan. We review where the crew works, where materials go and how we protect your home and yard.
Installation
The crew arrives at the agreed time, and your Project Leader oversees the work. Most roofs are installed in one day. We clean up before the crew leaves.
Completion
We check every detail before we call the project finished, then go over the finished roof with you. We are here for you long after the installation.

GAF Slateline roofing questions.
What are GAF Slateline shingles made of?
They are asphalt designer shingles made to resemble slate. Tapered cut-outs and bold shadow lines create the pattern. They give the roof a formal, even look.
How do Slateline shingles compare with Camelot II?
Slateline has a formal slate look in even rows. Camelot II has a shaped, irregular slate look. Compare samples of both to choose the pattern that suits your home.
What colors are available?
GAF lists Antique Slate, English Gray, Royal Slate and Weathered Slate. Your project consultant brings samples to the consultation. We confirm which colors are available locally.
How long does a Slateline roof last?
There is no single lifespan for every roof. Installation, , weather and maintenance all affect how long it lasts. We inspect the roof's condition before recommending a repair or replacement.
Does Slateline qualify for the WindProven warranty?
No. GAF describes coverage for Timberline shingles with LayerLock technology. Slateline is a Designer shingle. If that coverage matters to you, compare Timberline HDZ and Timberline UHDZ.
Can a damaged Slateline roof be repaired?
Yes. We check the condition of the roof, provide a repair estimate if a repair is needed, and then schedule the service.
How much does a Slateline roof cost?
The cost depends on your roof and the work it needs. Roof size, slopes, old roof removal and roof board condition affect the estimate. The roofing system components matter too. We measure your roof and name each part of the work in your personalized estimate.
